Az Apostoli Penitenciária – XIV. Leó pápa akaratával összhangban – dekrétumban hirdeti meg Assisi Szent Ferenc halálának 800. évfordulójához kapcsolódó különleges jubileumi évet, amelyhez teljes búcsúk elnyerésének lehetősége is társul. 

A Szentatya döntése értelmében – a Ferences Család Konferenciájának generális minisztereihez intézett levelében foglaltak szerint – 2026. január 10. és 2027. január 10. között ünnepeljük Szent Ferenc évét. 

E jubileumi esztendő keretében az Apostoli Penitenciária teljes búcsú elnyerésének lehetőségét adja mindazoknak, akik zarándokként felkeresnek egy Szent Ferenchez kötődő ferences kolostortemplomot vagy Szent Ferenc tiszteletére felszentelt templomot, és a megszokott feltételeket teljesítik: szentségi gyónást végeznek, szentáldozáshoz járulnak, valamint imádkoznak a Szentatya szándékaira.

Dear brothers and sisters, the path before us is clear, though it is not easy. We are called to allow our hearts to be renewed, so that we might seek peace and care for creation. Scripture tells us to guard our hearts, for everything we do flows from them (cf. Prov 4:23).
