Törzsökös római katolikus egyházközség. Már 1333-ban de Santo Martino néven szerepelt a jegyzékekben, 1569-ben pedig Zent Márton és 1638-ban Szent Márton néven jelenik meg. Szentmártont az 1567-es regestrum 47 kapuval és Csekefalvát 32 kapuval tartja nyilván. Vannak, akik az ősi templomot már 1332-ből származtatják, amelynek helye a múlt homályába veszett. A második, középkori templomát 1749-ben lebontották, és helyette újat építettek. Így ír erről a domus historia: „lerontatott, hogy az újnak helyet adjon.” A mai formáját 1802–1814-ben nyerte. A régi tornya azonban változatlanul megmaradt. A középkori templom emlékeiből megőrizték a 15. századi fali szentségfülkéjét, amely ma is látható a várfalban. Ugyancsak a középkori templom öröksége egy Mária-szobor a következő felirattal: Anno Domini 1525. Már 1495-ben három mázsás harangja volt, a nagy harang pedig 1688-ból való. A falu északi szélén látható az Úrteste kápolna a 15. századból. A 18. században átalakították, barokkos formát kapott. 1500-tól van katolikus iskolája, az 1823-as évi Canonica Visitatio is ezt erősíti meg. A falu szülötte Antalffi János erdélyi püspök (1724–1728). Az úzvölgyi kápolnát 1917-ben építették.

For World Mission Day 2026, which marks the centenary of a celebration established by Pius XI that is very dear to the Church, I have chosen the theme “One in Christ, united in mission.” Following the Jubilee Year, I wish to encourage the whole Church to continue its missionary journey with joy and zeal in the Holy Spirit.

Each year the World Day of Migrants and Refugees invites us to turn our attention to different aspects of the complex phenomenon of migration. For this 112th World Day, the theme, “Even just one of these children,” draws our attention to the minors directly involved in the experience of migration and flight, to the care owed to them, and to the Lord’s promise that “whoever receives one such child in my name receives me” (Mk 9:37).

Dear brothers and sisters, the path before us is clear, though it is not easy. We are called to allow our hearts to be renewed, so that we might seek peace and care for creation. Scripture tells us to guard our hearts, for everything we do flows from them (cf. Prov 4:23).
