Május 25-én de. fél 11-kor örök nyugalomra tért Tempfli József nyugalmazott váradi püspök életének 86., papságának 54., püspökségének 27. évében, hosszú betegség után, szentségekkel ellátva.

Csanáloson született 1931. április 9-én. Nagyváradon végezte líceumi, majd Gyulafehérváron a teológiai tanulmányait. 1962. május 31-én szentelték pappá. 1982-től szentjobbi apát volt, a kommunista érában sokat küszködött a váradolaszi temető megmentéséért. II. János Pál pápa 1990. március 14-én nevezte ki Nagyvárad 81. püspökévé. 2008. december 23-án fogadta el XVI. Benedek pápa a nyugdíjazására vonatkozó kérelmét.

Tempfli József kiérdemesült nagyváradi püspök temetése 2016. május 30-án, hétfőn 11 órától lesz a nagyváradi székesegyházban.

Each year the World Day of Migrants and Refugees invites us to turn our attention to different aspects of the complex phenomenon of migration. For this 112th World Day, the theme, “Even just one of these children,” draws our attention to the minors directly involved in the experience of migration and flight, to the care owed to them, and to the Lord’s promise that “whoever receives one such child in my name receives me” (Mk 9:37).

Dear brothers and sisters, the path before us is clear, though it is not easy. We are called to allow our hearts to be renewed, so that we might seek peace and care for creation. Scripture tells us to guard our hearts, for everything we do flows from them (cf. Prov 4:23).
