1911-ben bukovinai székelyek költöztek Déva egyik telepére. 1935-ben a telepi lakosság óhaja, hogy templomot építsenek, meghallgatásra talált, és hatalmas erővel el is indult az építkezés a két telep részéről jegyzőkönyvileg e célra átadott helyen. A Dévatelepi templom építőbizottsági elnökének, P. Varga Ireneusz zárdafőnöknek (1939-ig), a két telepi bírónak, Zsók Fábiánnak és Gáspár Antalnak, valamint a két telep gazdatanácsának irányításával elindultak a munkálatok. 1940. augusztus 18-án P. Varga Ireneusz megáldotta a Déva-telepi Szent Antal templomot. 2002. április 20-án önálló plébániává nyilvánították.
Nagyágon született Lönhart Ferenc erdélyi püspök (1819–97).

Message of His Holiness Pope Leo XIV for the 112th World Day of Migrants and Refugees

Each year the World Day of Migrants and Refugees invites us to turn our attention to different aspects of the complex phenomenon of migration. For this 112th World Day, the theme, “Even just one of these children,” draws our attention to the minors directly involved in the experience of migration and flight, to the care owed to them, and to the Lord’s promise that “whoever receives one such child in my name receives me” (Mk 9:37).

Message of His Holiness Pope Leo XIV for the 11th World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation 2026

Dear brothers and sisters, the path before us is clear, though it is not easy. We are called to allow our hearts to be renewed, so that we might seek peace and care for creation. Scripture tells us to guard our hearts, for everything we do flows from them (cf. Prov 4:23).
