1263-ban Baach néven írták. 1272-ben is szerepel. 1336-ból származó adatok szerint a kolozsmonostori apátság templomot tartott fenn. 1348-ban János nevű káplán szerepel. 1417-ben Szent Ágnes tiszteletére szentelt templomról van adat. 1459-ben Mátyás királytól malomjogot kapott. A középkorban Szent Ágoston volt a védőszentje. A templom stíluselemei (kapuk) a 13–14. századra utalnak. Mindkét munkálatot a falu szülötte, Túrós Dezső plébános fi nanszírozta. A főegyházmegyénk 2009-es millenniumi évében a temetőben ravatalozó kápolna épült, melynek megáldására a templombúcsú napján, Szent Péter és Szent Pál ünnepén került sor. Kisbács a reformáció idején is megmaradt katolikusnak, amiért Báthori István 1581-ben a jezsuitákra bízta. A jezsuiták kiűzése után református kézre került a templom, de Báthori Gábor visszaadta a kitartó katolikus híveknek. Többszöri megszakítás után végleg katolikus maradt 1766-tól, amikor plébánialak is épült. Jelenlegi plébániáját 1864-ben építették, melyre 2009-ben tetőszobák kerültek. 1750-től volt katolikus iskolája, melyet 1948-ban államosítottak. Jelenleg a katolikus magyar gyerekek Kolozsváron tanulnak.

Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration Date: december 22.

For World Mission Day 2026, which marks the centenary of a celebration established by Pius XI that is very dear to the Church, I have chosen the theme “One in Christ, united in mission.” Following the Jubilee Year, I wish to encourage the whole Church to continue its missionary journey with joy and zeal in the Holy Spirit.

Each year the World Day of Migrants and Refugees invites us to turn our attention to different aspects of the complex phenomenon of migration. For this 112th World Day, the theme, “Even just one of these children,” draws our attention to the minors directly involved in the experience of migration and flight, to the care owed to them, and to the Lord’s promise that “whoever receives one such child in my name receives me” (Mk 9:37).

Dear brothers and sisters, the path before us is clear, though it is not easy. We are called to allow our hearts to be renewed, so that we might seek peace and care for creation. Scripture tells us to guard our hearts, for everything we do flows from them (cf. Prov 4:23).
