The thoughts of dr. Jakubinyi György Archbishop Emeritus

The Mexican shrine of the Virgin Mary in Guadalupe (the apparition was on Dec. 9, 1531) is the largest Marian shrine in the world. During her apparitions (the ones that are recognized by the Church) the Holy Virgin does not say anything new, she just repeats what she told the servants in Cana: „Do whatever he tells you.” (John 2:5) Acc to our Lord Jesus the mission of the prophet Elijah will be fulfilled at the end of the world. Before the first arrival of the Messiah the mission of announcing him was fulfilled by John the Baptist. Let us be the ones to announce the arrival of the Messiah for our neighbours, let us prepare them to welcome Jesus as a child. Let us do what the Holy Virgin asks: „Do whatever he tells you.” This is what she tells us even today through the Church.

Pentru Ziua Mondială a Misiunilor din 2026, care marchează centenarul acestei celebrări, instituită de Pius al XI-lea și atât de dragă Bisericii, am ales tema „Una în Cristos, uniți în misiune”. După Anul Jubiliar, doresc să îndemn întreaga Biserică să continue cu bucurie și zel în Duhul Sfânt drumul misionar.

Az elvándorlók és menekültek világnapja évről évre arra hív bennünket, hogy a migráció összetett jelenségének különféle szempontjaira irányítsuk figyelmünket. A 112. világnap témája – „Akár csak egy is e gyermekek közül” – azokra a kiskorúakra irányítja figyelmünket, akik közvetlenül megtapasztalják az elvándorlást és a menekülést.

Iubiți frați și surori, calea din fața noastră este clară, chiar dacă nu este ușoară. Suntem chemați să ne lăsăm inimile să se reînnoiască, pentru a putea căuta pacea și grija pentru creație. Scriptura ne îndeamnă să ne păzim inimile, căci tot ceea ce facem izvorăște din ele (cf. Prov 4,23).
